How does being queer inform your work?

As queer designers, our unique perspective is a driving force behind the passion we feel in our work. My queerness informs my work by allowing others to see the world as I see it, in its abundance of love and opportunity.

What are your favorite pieces of queer visual culture?

My favorite piece of queer visual culture is Andy Warhol's series of paintings titled, Ladies and Gentlemen, a series of hundreds of silkscreen prints of transgender women and drag queens made in 1975. His portrayal of these women in poses of beauty and joy, in abstract swashes of color is a stunning statement on the brightness of queer life, even in the face of heinous discrimination.

Which other queer people inspire you?

Kel Lauren is one of my greatest inspirations as a graphic designer. They are a pioneer in the graphic design creator space, and their work has inspired thousands of young students to pursue art and design. They use their platforms across social media to promote smaller designers and extend their reach, oftentimes even denying projects and recommending other peers. Their approach to community outreach, sustainability and accessibility, and strong stance against AI are not only inspiring but influential.
