Hi, I'm Rogge! 🌈 I'm a queer, nonbinary designer in the Bay Area with 9 years of experience building inclusive brands and digital experiences for mission-driven orgs. I love art, type, illustration, and chatting with fellow designers!

How does being queer inform your work?

Being queer has taught me so much about problem-solving and communication. When you stop relying on predetermined scripts and start looking at things differently, it opens up whole new possibilities. It’s also taught me how to be resourceful—how to work with less when I’ve needed to, and how to build skills and community in non-traditional ways. I love being a queer designer. I love being a queer designer—it’s a lens that makes my work more thoughtful, more resourceful, and more expansive.

What are your favorite pieces of queer visual culture?

OMG, impossible to choose just one! But a really memorable one for me was 'But I’m a Cheerleader'—one of the first queer movies I saw as a teen. I was obsessed with the aesthetic and instantly connected with its campy, unapologetic queer humor.

Which other queer people inspire you?

So many people! I love reading Steven Thrasher’s and Erin in the Morning’s journalism, listening to 'Justice Ain’t Cheap: A Queer Philanthropy Podcast' and 'Death Panel' (yes, more podcasts 😄), and seeing queer artists' work IRL—recently I got to see Amos Paul Kennedy Jr.’s powerful printmaking. Also community/mutual aid organizers who are doing tremendous work to support marginalized folks and getting people mobilized. So other queer artists and troublemakers, I guess!
