Hey! I'm Dani, a multidisciplinary designer based in Vancouver, Canada. I love solving problems and uplifting communities through collaborative work. I have a passion for social justice, design and music. All of which guide me in working for change.

How does being queer inform your work?

It reminds me that being myself is the natural path to happiness. I feel as though my perspective as a queer person leads me to question many things those encased in the traditional gender binary might not question. It makes me take a good hard look at how things are worded and what assumptions are being made in the design process and leads me to create more inclusive spaces through my own practice.

What are your favorite pieces of queer visual culture?

I'll be honest I haven't had many spaces to view or express my queer identity and it often leads me to feel as if I'm floating in a limbo detached from the queer community. I'd say generally the fearlessness of being ourselves that shines through in much of the work and art of queer people is something I have a deep love for. The ability to flip the world on its head and show the people that don't get it how absurd they look denying us and humanity generally.

Which other queer people inspire you?

Kent Monkman such a great artist :)
