A chaotic trans creative with 20+ years of ghostwriting stories & doing designs under strict NDAs. I run Ink Dog Inc, a queer crew of illustrators, layout pros, and brand strategists. We always foster a sense of belonging and authenticity.

How does being queer inform your work?

Beeing queer informs everything that I do as a designer, from those I surround myself with, to the people that I work with. My goal is to work with other queer people, and really help spread the support to others. I have even restructured my business to include those close to me who are also creative, so that they can earn a stable income as well. I have made logos and branding for those in the community, and have projects in the works that help bring jobs to those in the community as well.

What are your favorite pieces of queer visual culture?

I would have to say that my favorite thing right now is this project, Trans Gaze by Laurence Philomene, because it is just fun, colorful, candid, and soulful. I think that it reflects all kinds of aspects and feelings of what being trans is, and the joy that needs to be seen. One of the first things that I discovered as a creative, and how I learned more about transition, was via a French photographer way back in the day. Seeing trans bodies reflect what I could get in the future is what has always brought me the most motivation. The images of the project have such a retro and almost lost media feel, something dated but also so new.

Which other queer people inspire you?

Alok is an icon to me, someone who just has views and a message of love and queerness that I adore. I very much love what I see from them, and am inspired in my writing and my creative focus for making an impact on my community, and the world, if possible. Their words have been things that inspired pieces of work that I did while finishing off my design degree over the last two years.
