Hey hey! I'm a Chicago-based designer and printmaker with a values-first approach. I care about the relationship between people, tools, work, and society. I'm a generalist who gets obsessive when the time is right.

How does being queer inform your work?

I have experienced and studied the ways that every wave of new technology has an oppressive side. Since I work in tech, I feel obligated to design responsibly, point out ways that design choices can harm queer people, and call out hype and bull. I'm also critical of the ways brands co-opt queer culture for profit, and I try to avoid that in my work.

What are your favorite pieces of queer visual culture?

I love patches and other memorabilia from queer motor and leather clubs of the 20th century. They are distinctly home-made, expressive, and they represent material traditions that have been passed down for generations. Some of these traditions and visual motifs live on, which is a testament to their power. And the fonts are just nuts.
